Sound the Alarm!
by Jeremy A. Brown
We can all see that something is awry in our world. All of the alarm bells are sounding. Even people around the world who don’t understand biblical prophecy can sense something has gone wrong. I speak with coworkers and friends who aren’t religious by any means, and they all have the same alarms going off—that our nation, and not only our nation but the world, is in pure turmoil. No one seems to understand how we got here so quickly, despite all of the warnings from God that if we keep disobeying Him these things will come to pass because we’re a stubborn people (Matthew 24:8-13). What is the job of God’s followers?! Are we to warn the people of what the great God of this earth says or should we keep it all to ourselves?!
In Ezekiel 3:17-21, God states we should warn the people of the punishment God will bring upon a rebellious people who despises His word. We should feel privileged that God opened our minds to His truth, therefore we should be fervently working to spread His word to help save as many people as possible. Pretty much what’s the point of having this (God’s) truth if you don’t share it with the world?! This knowledge that God has given us isn’t to be stored like money to build wealth for ourselves, but it’s to be used to save as many of our fellow human beings as possible. We’re supposed to reveal the truth to others, knowing that God will choose whose mind He opens (Acts 26:18). When our neighbors, friends, coworkers, and even strangers start to confide in you in regards to the stressful and strange times we live in, we should inform them of what 2 Chronicle 7:14 says about the need for us to humble ourselves through fasting and prayer, asking God for forgiveness and understanding.
Don’t just inform your neighbors, but reach out to your government representatives, i.e., write your congressman or congresswoman, parliament, president, city council personnel, and so on. They also need to know since they represent your interests and the future of our nation. Tell them we need a national day of prayer, fasting, and repentance. God says the blood of the wicked is on the hands of those who He gave the knowledge of His word to (us) if we do not warn them of what the repercussions are for disobeying His word (Ezekiel 33:2-9). As you see we have no option and it’s our duty from God to spread this truth to help save others. God chose us for a specific reason and task, not that we may glory like we men do because we know something others do not; we actually were given this knowledge to do a lot of work for God. Our Father God says the work is plentiful, but the laborers are few, meaning we have a lot of work cut out for us, but with God on our side all things are possible (Matthew 9:37).
CONTINUE TO SOUND THE ALARM!!
